Secondary packaging

The packets of chips are packed into cardboard boxes sometimes automatically and in others by hand. These boxes are also stamped with the 'best before' date so that the shop keeper sells them in the right order. This 'secondary packaging' protects the chips during transport. The finished boxes are stacked on to pallets and moved from the production area to the distribution department and onwards to supermarkets and local shops.
